FAQ :
The advisory reinforces compliance with Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017, introducing new measures for GST registration to enhance scrutiny and prevent fraudulent registrations, particularly for those using Aadhaar authentication and biometric verification.
If you do not opt for Aadhaar authentication, you must visit a designated GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for photo capturing and document verification. You will receive an email with GSK details and a link to schedule an appointment.
Promoters/Partners must visit a GSK for biometric authentication and photo capturing. The Primary Authorised Signatory (PAS) needs to carry specified documents for verification at the GSK and also undergo photo capturing and biometric authentication.
If you have already undergone biometric verification in any State/UT for a previous registration as a Promoter/Partner, you won't need to visit a GSK again for photo capturing or biometric authentication for other entities. However, if you are the PAS, only document verification at the GSK will be required.
An ARN will not be generated if, for applicants opting for Aadhaar authentication and biometric verification, any Promoter/Partner or PAS fails to visit the GSK, biometric authentication fails, or document verification isn't completed within 15 days of submitting Part B of REG-01. For non-Aadhaar applicants, ARN generation is blocked if photo capturing or document verification isn't completed within 15 days.
Ensure your Aadhaar details (name, date of birth, gender) are accurate. If there are discrepancies, update your Aadhaar and visit the GSK within 15 days to avoid authentication failures.
