FAQ :
The new form for Canteen Store Departments to claim refunds on tax paid for inward supplies of goods is Form GST RFD 10A.
CSDs can now file their tax refund applications online through the GST common portal.
The process involves logging into the GST portal, navigating to Services > Refund > Application for Refund, selecting 'Refund of tax paid on Inward supply of goods by Canteen Store Department (CSD)', choosing the period, and uploading invoice details.
The GST portal allows selection of periods from July 2017. If manual claims were filed for earlier periods or no refund is due, CSDs must file NIL refund claims for those periods in the system first.
Once the refund application is submitted, the system will not allow any further changes. It is advisable to save and preview the application before submission to make any necessary corrections.
Any issues faced by taxpayers can be reported on the Grievance Redressal portal at https://selfservice.gstsystem.in.
