GSTN has announced a new version of its emSigner software, version 3.3.
Users who are issued new DSC USB tokens on or after 21st September 2026 will need to use emSigner version 3.3. Existing users with valid, working DSCs can continue with their current version unless they face signing issues.
emSigner 3.3 requires a 64-bit operating system (Windows 10/11, Ubuntu 18+, macOS 10.6+), at least 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and Java 1.8. Java 9 and later versions are not supported.
You can download emSigner version 3.3 from the GST Portal, specifically from the DSC/emSigner section.
No, DSCs downloaded onto FIPS 140-2 dongles on or before 21st September 2026 are not automatically invalidated and can generally be used until their expiry, subject to CCA requirements.
