The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has introduced a 6% tax rate option within the item details section of the GSTR-1 form, excluding the HSN table 12 for now. Businesses with outward supplies subject to this rate must now use this new option for reporting. For HSN table 12, taxpayers can temporarily report 6% supplies under the 5% rate, adjusting tax values accordingly until the 6% option is available.

It may be noted that 6% tax rate has been added in the item details section of all the tables of form GSTR-1, except HSN table 12. In case your outward supplies attracts 6% tax rate, you are required to upload the details against 6% tax rate in the item
