Gross direct tax collections for the financial year 2022-23 have seen a significant increase of 25.90%, reaching Rs.13.63 lakh crore. This figure is up from Rs.10.83 lakh crore in the previous financial year. Net direct tax collections also grew by 19.81% to Rs.11.35 lakh crore. The government has also issued refunds totalling Rs.2.27 lakh crore, a substantial increase from the previous year.
