Q 1 – UCN –Not Allotted
I have been allotted a Unique Code Number ( UCN) but, when I download the application, UCN field is appearing with the words 'NOT ALLOTTED'. What do I need to do ?
Ans
The Applicant needs to fill up the Form, upload and download acknowledgement. The allotted UCN No is then required to mentioned on the hard copy of acknowledgement as also on the hard copy of the Declaration at the time of submission to the ICAI. Appropriate verification will be carried out at the ICAI and data will be updated at ICAI end and the correct number will be considered during preparation of the Panel.
Q 2 – UCN – Difference
I have been allotted UCN but, when I download the application, different UCN appears. What do I need to do ?

The Applicant needs to send an email to ICAI office ( mefpdc@icai.org) intimating the UCN that was earlier allotted to the Applicant and the one that is appearing in the downloaded application. The data will be verified at ICAI end and appropriate modification, if required, will be carried out in the data. The Applicant will be intimated whereupon, the Applicant will have to download the Form again and complete the formalities. The Form will be available for download to the concerned member at the time of resolution of the matter.
Q 3 – Acknowledgement not received
I have submitted MEF online but, have not received email acknowledgement. When will I receive the same ?

The acknowledgement is required to be downloaded from the mefpdc@icai.org homepage. There is a button on the right hand side of the homepage for this utility. This acknowledgement will be available after about 8 hours of your submission of electronic application. In case, you are not able to download the acknowledgement even after 24 hours of uploading of MEF, please send an email to mefpdc@icai.org and the matter will be verified at ICAI end.
Q 4 – Filed incorrect details – want to modify
I have already uploaded the Form but, I find that some information furnished by me is incorrect and I would like to modify the same. How do I go about it ? Can you cancel the Form submitted by me earlier ?

Please send an email to mefpdc@icai.org giving full details of the information where there is variation. The same will be verified at the ICAI end after the last date of upload of MEF and appropriate action will be taken. Intimation will be sent to the Applicant. It will take minimum of seven days to respond to the members after the last date of uploading of the MEF.
Q 5 – Applied as individual now want to apply as proprietory concern

Please send details by email to mefpdc@icai.org . Decision in this regard will be taken after the last date of upload of MEF. Appropriate arrangements will be made to give effect to the decision.
Q 6 – Category displayed is incorrect
Based on the information filled up by me, my category ought to be different from the one generated by the system and displayed in the Acknowledgement downloaded by me. What do I need to do? How will it be corrected?

Q 7 – Data in green fields is different
The data/information that is appearing in the green fields ( not modifiable) is incorrect. How do get the same updated ?

Please note that the data appearing in the green fields is as per the information appearing in ICAI records as on 1.1.2007. In case, the Applicant's information as on that date is not updated, the Applicant should approach the concerned decentralized office for updation of the information and send email at mefpdc@icai.org . The same will be verified and, if required, updated and appropriate action will be taken at ICAI end. Intimation will be sent to the Applicant after 7 days from the last date for uploading of the MEF.
