The new e-filing portal 2.0 of the Income Tax Department went live on June 7th, 2021.
The meeting was held to address the numerous technical glitches and problems faced by taxpayers and tax professionals since the launch of the new Income Tax portal.
The Finance Minister exhorted Infosys to work on making the tax portal more humane and user-friendly, address all issues without delay, improve services, and redress grievances on priority.
Infosys mentioned they are working on issues such as e-proceedings, Form 15CA/15CB, TDS statements, DSC, and viewing of past ITRs, with expected resolution timelines.
Yes, it was decided that the timelines provided by Infosys to redress the issues would be placed in the public domain in due course.
