CIMA India appoints Debasish Biswas as new Country Chief Representative

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, has announced the appointment of Debasish Biswas as the new Country Chief Representative - India.

 

Commenting on the new appointment from global headquarters in London, Fiona Harvey, Regional Director, Performance and Emerging Markets, CIMA, said, “With Debasish Biswas taking over the reins at CIMA India, we look forward to significantly strengthening & consolidating our brand and presence. We are confident that under the leadership of Debasish, CIMA India would scale greater heights of success, acclaim & recognition amongst students, institutions, corporates, government & industry bodies.”

In his role at CIMA India, Debasish would be overseeing the Indian operations of the UK management accounting body & expand the market for CIMA qualified students & professionals in India.

With a career spanning over 20 years, Debasish has vast experience in businesses across India and South Asia in banking, telecom, insurance, media and education sectors. His professional expertise and proficiency comprises of handling leadership roles & general management functions in multinationals at national & international levels.  

Debasish was the Vice President and Head – Education Alliances at Star India, prior to joining CIMA. He has also worked at Macmillan Education, Tata Teleservices, Max New York Life Insurance & Standard Chartered Bank.

 

Debasish holds a first-class M.Phil. in Business Management and MBA in Marketing, apart from specialized qualifications in Corporate & International Finance.
