Change in the pattern of CA Final elective paper w.e.f. Nov 2019 exams

Last updated: 18 September 2019

Final (New) Examination from November, 2019 Onwards

In the New Scheme of Education and Training, the assessment of elective papers 6A to 6F at the Final level is case study based. Upto May, 2019 examination, the question paper of each elective subject comprised of three case studies for 50 marks, out which a candidate had to attempt any two.

The competent authority has decided that, from November, 2019 examination, the question paper of each elective subject [Papers 6A to 6F] would contain five case studies of 25 marks each, out of which a candidate has to attempt any four. In each case study carrying 25 marks, MCQs would be for 10 marks and descriptive questions involving computation/analysis/interpretation would be for 15 marks. Thus, the present ratio of 40:60 between MCQs and descriptive questions would continue. Further, as at present, there would be no negative marking for wrong answers in MCQs and no reasoning would be required for answers to MCQs.
