FAQ :
A former Deputy Commissioner of CBIC, a Customs House Agent, and a businessman (toy importer) have been arrested.
The alleged bribery amount is Rs. One Lakh.
The bribe was allegedly to induce public servants to clear a toys consignment that had been stopped by customs officials.
The former Deputy Commissioner allegedly asked for Rs. One Lakh from the other accused to use his personal influence within the Customs department to get the consignment cleared.
The CBI arrested the former Deputy Commissioner and recovered Rs. One Lakh from his car. Incriminating documents were also recovered from the residential premises of the accused.
All arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court at Delhi.
