Between 1st April 2020 and 15th March 2021, the Income Tax Department successfully processed and issued refunds totalling over Rs. 2,04,805 crore. This significant sum benefited more than 2.09 crore taxpayers across India. The refunds were split between income tax, amounting to Rs. 73,607 crore for 2,06,64,547 cases, and corporate tax, with Rs. 1,31,198 crore issued to 2,21,014 businesses.
