Special Campaign 5.0 is a government initiative from 2nd to 31st October 2025 aimed at promoting cleanliness (swachhata) in government offices and efficiently disposing of pending matters.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and its subordinate offices across the country are actively participating in Special Campaign 5.0.
During Special Campaign 4.0, CBDT cleaned 1,450 sites, disposed of 3.20 lakh physical files and 58,000 e-files, cleared 220 tonnes of old records, freed 1.75 lakh square feet of office space, generated ₹43 lakh from scrap disposal, and resolved over 53,000 public grievances.
CBDT will focus on four key areas: disposal of e-waste, record management, space optimisation and office beautification, and accelerated grievance redressal.
Between November 2024 and August 2025, CBDT resolved 56,575 public grievances on the CPGRAMS portal and disposed of more than 9,300 grievance appeals.
