The Cabinet has approved the release of an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners.
The Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief have been increased by 4%.
The increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief is effective from July 1, 2022.
The hike is based on the percentage increase in the 12-monthly average of the All India Consumer Price Index for the period ending June 2022.
The combined annual financial implication for both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief is estimated at Rs.12,852.56 crore.
