According to GST authorities, Lakhara's firm claimed purchases without actually acquiring any goods or services, resulting in a significant revenue loss to the government. Investigations revealed that Moon Trader did not have physical possession of the goods as claimed, and the accused failed to produce any supporting documents.

Officials added that various transporters confirmed they had not moved the goods listed under their names by the company. Lakhara is currently in judicial custody under the provisions of the GST Act, 2017.
