India's economic growth in the current year is estimated to be 9.2 per cent, which is the highest among all large economies.

The government aims to complement macro-economic growth with inclusive welfare, promote the digital economy and fintech, support technology-enabled development, energy transition, climate action, and encourage private investment.

Since 2014, the government's focus has been on empowering citizens, especially the poor and marginalised, through programmes for housing, electricity, cooking gas, water access, financial inclusion, and direct benefit transfers.

The Productivity Linked Incentive in 14 sectors has the potential to create 60 lakh new jobs and an additional production of ₹30 lakh crore over the next 5 years.

The strategic transfer of ownership of Air India has been completed, a strategic partner has been selected for NINL, and the public issue of LIC is expected shortly. Other initiatives are also in process for 2022-23.
