In July 2020, the All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers stood at 1021 points, and for Rural Labourers, it was 1028 points.
The primary driver for the rise in the general index for both agricultural and rural labourers was an increase in food prices, particularly for items such as arhar dal, masur dal, ground nut oil, meat, poultry, vegetables, and fruits.
For Agricultural Labourers, Meghalaya saw the maximum increase of 15 points. For Rural Labourers, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya both experienced an increase of 14 points.
Tripura State experienced the maximum decrease, with 8 points for Agricultural Labourers and 5 points for Rural Labourers.
The point-to-point inflation rate decreased in July 2020. For CPI-AL, it dropped to 6.58% from 7.16% in June, and for CPI-RL, it fell to 6.53% from 7.00%.
For Agricultural Labourers, Tamil Nadu had the highest index at 1216 points, and Himachal Pradesh had the lowest at 786 points. For Rural Labourers, Tamil Nadu was highest at 1202 points, and Himachal Pradesh was lowest at 838 points.
