A Senior Account Officer and an Assistant Account Officer of the CGST office in Vapi were arrested by the ACB.
They were arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a local nursery owner to clear a pending bill.
The alleged bribe amount was Rs 2,000.
The complainant is a local nursery owner who had supplied plants with pots to the CGST office and was awaiting payment.
The ACB laid a trap, apprehended the officers while receiving the bribe, and subsequently arrested them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The arrests took place at the office of Assistant Account Officer Kapil Jain in Vapi.
