For the AY19-20 my original demand was Rs. 280/- in the old portal. I accepted the demand of 280/- in the old portal in month of april 2021. After the migration to new portal, the new demand is being shown as 9 lakhs and as accepted (old acceptance is being carried over in the new portal with the incorrect demand). For the last one year I have taken up this issue of false demand with my local income tax office and also CPC through grievenace route and personal visits, however they are not providing any resolution.
All tax credits in 26AS for AY 19-20 is shown as the new demand. I have tried filing for rectification as suggested by the CPC, however I encounter the error as below. I have reached out to various help line numbers and email addresses provided by IT department but haven't been able to resolve this issue. There has never been any formal letter or mail for this new revised demand and the same is not available in the portal. Could you please suggest what my best options are in getting this issue resolved. Thank in advance.
