Quick Summary
If you wish to withdraw an appeal filed with the Commissioner, it's important to understand the specific procedure. While direct withdrawal might not be permitted as per Section 251 of the IT Act, 1961, the Commissioner can dismiss the appeal as withdrawn. You can initiate this by submitting a formal request letter to withdraw the demand.
