Which ITR should I fill?

I have filed ITR1 and submitted then I came to know that Income from Equity has to be filed in ITR-2.

  1. So is it require to file ITR-2 or should I keep ITR1 as it is?
  2. Can I cancel already filed ITR1?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the confusion between filing Income Tax Return (ITR) 1 and ITR 2, particularly when income from equity is involved. The user mistakenly filed ITR 1 but realised equity income requires ITR 2. The advice given is to file a revised return using ITR 2 under section 139(5), which will automatically nullify the original ITR 1 filing.

File ITR 2 revised return u/s. 139(5) of the act.

The original ITR will be automatically nullified.

Have u filed itr 1?
no
are u filing revised return ?
is itr 2 necessary?
