Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies which Income Tax Return (ITR) form senior citizens should use, particularly when their income sources are limited to Fixed Deposit (FD) interest and delivery/intraday trading. The advice suggests ITR1 is often suitable for 'other sources' income like FD interest. For trading income, the choice between ITR2 and ITR3 depends on the volume and nature of transactions, with ITR2 potentially being an option for lower trading income and ITR3 for more substantial or complex intraday trading. Holding a director position may necessitate ITR2.

If intraday transactions are meager, file ITR 2; else go for ITR 3.

Itr 2

Sir,  total income is less than 50 Lac then can I file ITR2 as income from FD and stocks is less than 50 lacs.

My doubt, I saw in incometax website it says ITR2 for income more than 50 Lacs which is not my case so please suggest.

Under itr 1 you can file both other sources.
no need to file itr2.
Selection of itr is based upon the following:
a)source of income
b)nature of assesse.
If the assesse holds a director level then he can file itr 2.
