Quick Summary
If you've had short-term and long-term capital gains from listed equity shares in FY 23-24, you'll need to use ITR Form 2. To file under the old tax regime, you must opt out of the new regime in the 'General' schedule. Capital gains from equity with STT paid should be declared in Schedule 112A for long-term gains and Schedule CG for short-term gains.

1. File ITR 2

2. Tick Yes, to opt out of New regime in Schedule General

3. Fill the details in schedule Capital Gains.

Hello Dhirajlal sir where should I show the capital gains under which schedule?.

For LTCG from equity (STT paid) ... Schedule 112A

For STCG from equity (STT paid)  Schedule CG ... A3 ....
