dear frens, I have been ruined by CA since long due to second group pending. I expect genuine suggestions from you frens who can very constructively guide me with your experience. I m suffering every time due to lack of aggregate by few marks like 10-15 which is as a result of not having 60 plus marks in any paper. I get too much frustrated and sometimes plans to quit CA but where can I go at this stage leaving CA. u all are aware that without having 60 plus marks in either paper in any group, its almost impossible to clear the group but as regards second gr papers, I find no paper worthy to secure exemption marks . pls kindly suggest me , which paper should I target for exemption and what would be the best possible mode of preparation? thanks .

I am not qualified CA But ,I am of the opinion that trying to secure at least 55 marks in each subject,no matter how difficult the papers may come will definitely serve the purpose.I am of the opinion it is difficult (not impossible)to secure 60 marks in any subject .Our target should not be 40 -45 in some subject and 60 in one or two subject .It may be a risky proposition .again opinions may differ from person to person .I am just putting my views .
Thanks pranav for your view. Securing 55 in each requires coverage of more than 80% course which is also tough job. Anyway thanks for opinion.
Isca ma aaa sakte ha 65-70 pura course kiya ha toh baaaki toh nhi aaa sakte mere according fr an avg std.
Harshit, if u don't mind, can u tell me , have written isca paper n awarded marks? Last time I attempted 95 marks n I was sure for isca exemoion at least even if no gr clearance. But shocking news is that I got least marks in isca ie 40. What do u say?

you can go for idtl... and if u have interest in costing then also for costing... else idtl is the one paper in which u can get exemption

What should be the preparation strategy for idtl? Pls
I had got 64 in ISCA but it needs preparation of thorough notes from PM,past 10 examination SAs and RTPs. I dont know how you can get these for new syllabi so you can use SM instead. Go topic wise and cover everything related under 1 heading. Also highlight definitions for clearity in your understanding.

Hi Priya,

I was also struggled lot to clear the II group. Always I struggled in the aggregate. Thank god, in 2011 when the question pattern changed , in IDT the compulsory question was problem oriented. Even i was not aware of the pattern changed but i know problem will come for caluclation of assessment value for customs and excise.

The fisrt question was for 20 marks. i attended fully. 3 to 4 case laws came from what i studied. From that i took 20 marks and balance 23 from other questions. I got in that attempt 63.

In May 2012 failed and in Nov 2012 i cleared with 215.

But one thing remember do not leave any chapter. if you have time take notes of each chapter. The notes should not be more than 10 pages per chapter. You can revise this day before the exams and you can perform well in the exams.

No matter what you study in the whole six months. But last 20 to 25 days is most importatnt.  i have not gone for any coaching.

Even for costing, i prepared from Mr.Sarvanaprased and i used to score around 50 each time. costing some times helps.

I wrote group I in Nov-14. Hope for the best. Do not lose heart. I started my CA after 7 years of my degree and i got married that time. I completed my inter early but, final group II took long time due to my work. Now i am 42 years. waiting for good news in Jan.
