Which is better for a CA: big fours or a reputed industry?

Hello everyone!!!

I am a freshly qualified Chartered Accountant and currently working in a Big Manufacturing Company listed in India and my job probile is Corporate Accounts (which includes working with IFRS as the company is a MNC). My articleship was from a reputed firm and I have experience in Audit. So I decided to start my carear in a Industry instead of Big Four.

Quite often I wonder which is better for a CA, to work with a Big Four or Industry? and I am sure many freshly qualifieds like me go through this thought process.

Hence in order to have clarity, I request all my collegues and seniors in the profession to put some light on this.

Thanks in advance for your support!!!

Definately this is a debatable issue. To working with mnc or big4 is a problem arising oftenly after being a ca. In my openion it depands on your requirement, no doubt in that practice is a deffred benifit rather service is an immidiate benifit . . . . . But i think who is eager for its proffesional development should opt for practice route. . . . One thing i will suggest "either one should become a minor part of a big machinery or a major part of small machinery" choice is . . . . . . . . . Regards Cs CA(final) surendra agarwal

Manufacturing Industry--- Growth slow paced, Knowledge Base Sound.

Financial Sector---- Growth good, but in the long run lack dynamism.

BigFOUR--- The name is big rest is small very small. Bookish/MBA type skill set is preferred.

PRACTICE---- Best for overall grooming and updation, but Herculius efforts is required to set up one.

what about banking sector???
