When will ca old course be scrapped

I joined CA Final course in 2006 after passing out my CA Inter (PE-II) in July 2006. My last attempt for CA Final examination was in May 2015. Since then I have not attempted to appear for the exams. In fact, due to personal commitments, I did not even think of the course. Now I am looking forward to starting afresh and complete the course. Can anyone guide me as to what is the current scenario, what do I need to do in order to check for my registration validation and when will they scrap the old course and make the new course mandatory for all students?
