When to buy dt manoharan book

Hi Guys,

My Final attempt is May 14 and i havn't started studying dor Direct Taxes yet.. My doubt is which could be the probable month when DT Book by Manoharan will be released relevant for May 14 exams..

Yes sir i did check the Website.. But they have comeout with a new book AY 13-14 relevant for May 13 and Nov 13 exam.. I am looking for an edition applicable for May 14 exam.

Do not wait for new edition. Start studying from existing book and then study the supplementary notes which will be issued by institute in dec-13 for amendments.

Oh cool.. So you advise me to buy the book rightaway right? I mean what if there are major changes in this year's budget and hence the book that i buy becomes of no use right... I mean if Budget comes out in Feb, can we expect a new edition by March end or something.. Dont mind waiting 2 months or so...

@ Mohit, your exam are may 14. So it would be better to wait and start learning from the new book. However, learning in this point is also good since you can start early and come to know the things early. But still my suggession will be wait for the latest book and till u get a new book , you can utilse to study other subject

Mohit ji,

The subject of Income- tax is very comprehensive and it needs a substantial time to be devoted for the subject. Since your attempt is in May 2014, it is highly recommended to start reading any direct tax book in order to get a fair understanding of the syllabus. My suggestion would be to study from ICAI study material, as it is a good book provided at a reasonable price for both DT and IDT.

As time passes by, you can gather more information from friends, experts etc. to find out best book. For you Assessment Year 2014-15 is applicable for May 2014 examination, by this time you would have probably zeroed on the book that you intend to pick.

As suggested above by that time, ICAI will also publish supplementary book noting all the changes that are applicable for May 2014 examination.

Finally, the new books relevant for Assessment Year will be available in the Market by December end or early January for Assessment Year 2014-15. You will not feel enraged to say that your previous book has become useless and you put in so much time energy into it.

hi...you have enough time you should rather concentrate on covering other subjects whose course does not change (other 6 subjects) even if u leave dt, idt for last u wil hav almOst 3 -4months for 2 subjects which much more than enough
