Yah this is in pm na even i tooo didn't understanddd even i want clarification...
Salary is of Rs. 20,000/-. The employee shall be eligible to receive increment of Rs. 1,000/- every year, till his salary reaches Rs. 30,000/-.

Rs 20, 000/-pm for 11 months. And Rs.21, 000/-for 1month. I.e., 221, 000 for previous year 13-14.
Sorry.. that will not b d case.. Rs 20, 000/-pm for 9months.I.e from April to December. And Rs.21, 000/-for 3month i.e. january to march.. total will come to Rs.224 ,000 for previous year 13-14.

Employee will get a salary of 20000 for the month of jan,feb,march 2013 and from thenext f/y he will get 21000 .therefore salary for whole f/y 13-14 will be 21000*12=252000.
From April'13 to Dec'13 salary will be Rs.20000/- pm.
and for Jan'14 to Mar'14 it will be Rs. 21000.
20000x9= 180000
21000x3= 63000
Total= 243000...
As everybody has answered it
He will receive salary as-20000*9(april-dec)+21000*3(jan-mar)
If 2yrs case will come in exam then again after nxt dec the salary will b 22000
