stcg is taxble @ as a normal rate. if stcg is 115 then tax rate 15%

15% is for sec 111A STCG i.e on Shares and for other it is taxed @ normal rate

If the short term capital gain is covered by the provisions of section 111A (for equity shares/equity oriented mutual fund), then the same shall be charged at the flat rate of 15% otherwise the same shall be taxed as the normal income and shall be chargeable to tax using the normal slab rate of tax.

Short term capital gain will be taxed @ 30% i.e normal if capital assest is held upto the period of 36 months.
However, where the capital asset is listed shares and hold upto the period of 12 months then tax rate would be applicable @ 15% under section 111A.

it is also said that under new Direct tax code LTCG & STCG WILL BE SAME RATE....
