what is discrete & continuous variables???

Discrete contains a finite number of possibilities while Continuous an infinite number of
possibilities

age and weight are absolutely discrete!!

salary is where may be both or discrete, but not sure :-(

i also got the answer after reading that age is a discrete variable.

but in one question in the icai study material it is mentioned that AGE s a continuous variable.

so i was bit confused.

in my opinion discreate variables are those which can be counted and continous variables are those which can be measured.

age and salary are definately discreate and weight is a continous one.
