As we all are aware that parliamentary sessions are facing frequent disruptions and forced adjournments of Parliament by the opposition which leads to fewer debates and discussions on vital issues. Due to this public exchequer is losing crores of rupees as each hour of functioning of the House costs Rs25 lakh.
This would mean a loss of Rs. 2 crore on a day when no business is transacted. If you add the number of days and hours wasted and the loss figures at the end of each session are huge.
As per my understanding, use of disruptions, adjournments and walk-outs by the opposition as a weapon to corner and criticizing the government against corruption and poor economic decisions is fine. But there should be a limit to such disruptions and forced adjournments for two reasons:
- First; continues disruptions and forced adjournments of parliament leads to wastage of public money in crores;
- Second; Lots of important discussions and economic decisions remain pending.
Friends what is your opinion in this behalf. Is this indeed a wastage of hard earned public money.
Thanks
