Want to change password

Hi Sanjay, 

Try the following procudure.

Go to Incometaxindiaefiling website=> Forgot passward=>Enter PAN=

You have to select any one out of 3 options:

(1) Enter Scret Question

(2) Enter E-filing Ackowledgment No with Bank A/C no in E-return for AY 2011-12

(3) Enter PAN details

If (1) and (2) options are not available, try option 3 with required fields. U will be received new password thro E-mail duly registred with IT dept.

Try to open and find the password in any one of mail ID out of all your  mail IDs (if u do not know the exact mail ID).

FOR CHANGE IN INCOME TAX PASSWARD ON INCOME TAX PORTAL Please forward the following details to efiling.administrator @ incometaxindia.gov.in Subject : Forgot password for e-filing, want a temporary password PAN - ------------------- Name - -------------------------- Father Name- ---------------------------- Date of Birth --------------------------- Mail id from where it was registered- ---------------------------- Your Contact Details: Name --------------- Email Id -------------------- By sending this mail you will receive a temporary password.(GENERALLY U WILL RECEIVE UR PAN NUMBER AS DEFAULT PASSWORD)

AFTER THAT CHANGE PASSWORD,AND ALSO CHANGE UR E-MAIL ID FROM my account TAB,FOR OUR CONVINENT

I HAVE DONE THIS PROCEDURE AND GOT PASSWORD AS PAN NUMBER WITH IN 30 MINUTES..

you can see 26AS with internet banking, where you have furnished PAN number, so once you reach 26AS portal, change your info and password.
