what if there are no right people, how then can there be votes

REGULATIONS SHOULD BE SUCH THAT IF A CERTAIN %AGE OF PEOPLE DON'T TURN UP TO VOTE, their should be a rigorous reshuffle in the parties so as to bring bright candidates. and the old candidates who didnt turn up voters should not be given tickets..........bcoz low turning up clearly shows the democracy is purely lacking interest in candidates.

just see the %age......in delhi, where much educated community prevails, only 53% had turned up to vote. that means the other 47%, almost equally, didnt' want to.......

isn't it ample evidence for the lost of trust of the commonalty in politics in india.

Hey guys...even if there are no right ppl go & vote...vote for nobody...get ur finger marked & don't vote..let them update in there records that u vote no one. This is a right given in constitution of India article 49-O.

Section 49-O of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961 is as follows:

49-O. Elector deciding not to vote.- If an elector, after his electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark.

Then the ques is-

Why should you go and say ‘I VOTE NOBODY’? … Because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received ‘49-O’ votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidate of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them.

Interesting, that sec 49-0. Wonder how many of the non voting public knows that, still ignorance no excuse.

GOVT. AND POLITICIANS INTETIONALLY DON'T LET THESE KIND OF PROVISIONS GET INTO THE LIGHT AS THEY R AGAINST THEM OBVIOUSLY...................A COMMON MAN UNHEARD OF such RIGHTs WITH CLOSED MIND, GO AND VOTE LEAVING THE COUNRTY IN THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO WILL AFTER ELECTIONS MAKE POST POLL ALLIANCES AND FULFILL THEIR LUST FOR the throne.......

no doubt Rule 49-O is very voter friendly rule but the effectiveness of any law lies not in its existence but rather in the intention of the executive to implement it.....

THOUGH ignorance of law is no excuse but these kinds of options r like the real milestones to democracy.....otherwise what democracy would mean if it doesn't include the right to reject the candidate....

putting ur own persons B4 and saying u r free to choose anybody from them is no freedom....real democracy should include the freedom to reject..........

politicians make code of conducts for the whole society but shirks for making the same for holding parliament sessions......
