We paid the interest on service tax for period July-2012 to Dec-2012. and also file the return online. Now my doubt is that we are eligible to immunity from penalty and interest for above said period under VCES scheme. Some officer told that you can only eligible for penalty waiver not interest, because you filed the returns, so please suggest on this. In the VCES scheme they show you are pay dues without interest and penalty and other legal proceedings including prosecution. We already paid the interest now shall we refund the same. plz confirm.

It is good you are declare the taxable service, further your queries are that you go through VCES and paid the tax, plz gap in mind under this scheme the department should not raised the Penalty and interest, but little bit a change interest may be imposed, but do’t mind, if your assessment is under processed or assessed then you file the Refund.
Further, contact your Service-Tax Department officer with any hesitate.
