Vat registration for pharmacy

Dear Sir, I am new join in Hospital Sector and i have some doubt about hospital pharmacy store, weather, It is mandatory vat registration for pharmacy store or not. This is a new Hospital, and pharmacy is also a part of Hospital. Pharmacy have already crossed sale of Rs.10 lacks can we run pharmacy without registration? or is it mandatory a registration number? Please suggest me.
