Vat rate on pizza
dear sir,
I went to pizza hut they charged on pizza service tax @ 10% then charged VAT @ 12.5% on (basic+service tax) and charged education cess @ 3% on sub total of (basic+service tax @ 10% + vat) is treatment right? is VAT applicable on pizza

Treatment is right. VAT is applicable on PIZZA
check in the bill 10% is service charge & not service tax that i am 100% sure. service charge is not a tax but revenue for pizza hut. On this total VAT is charged as food is a good and not a service.
