During vat regd in West Bengal (Dist. Hooghly) I have deposited Rs. 25000/- as security deposit. The officer told me that it will adjusted after two years against vat payable by me on that time. Now I want to know can mentioned that SD amt. in my VAT return. If yes, then in which column. Pls help.

Dear Subhajit

I think, SD on VAT could not be adjustable with VAT output. U can claim it seperately after 2 years. on that time your VAT liability should be NIL in all aspect.

Dear Sir,

We are based at Kolkata and we are engaged with Electronic (TV) servicing. We would like to know the VAT charges applicable for LCD TV Panel spare parts. I could see from the web that it is 5% (Section 85.31 of WB ST Act). Please confirm if this is correct.

Secondly, we also wish to know if we need to maintain any prescribed format for tracking VAT (Input/Output) for submission to WB Sales Tax. Please also confirm if the ST Return  filing has to be done on a monthly basis or quarterly basis (Sales Tax Return) in West Bengal.

Regards
