My query is relating to Maharashtra Vat.
Whether Vat will be charged on Freight Amount charged in the Bill? And whether vat will be charged on Service tax charged on Freight in the same bill?
Plz reply...its urgent....

Freight is chargeable with vat in Maharashtra.In general,once freight is treated as sales value it can not be liable for ST also.......mjk

ok sir....but we are also registered as GTA under service tax, hence we are liable for service tax. If we have charged freight & service tax both in the bill, then whether we are required to charge VAT on amount inclusive of Freight & Service Tax?
As per our consultant VAT is chargeable on service tax also? Is his contentions true?
