Vat on replaced electronic items when it is out of warranty

Dear Sir / Madam,

Request anybody to respond to my query. I bought one LED TV 2 and half years ago (Now the TV is under NO warranty). Recently its LED Panel has gone bad. Hence I approached the OEM, and after several communication mails exchanged between us they agreed to offer me a discount of of 50 % and REPLACED the defective LED panel with new one. The service personnel has taken away the defective one and given me an invoice which comprises of MRP of the Panel, Discount offered on MRP and VAT on sale price. Now my doubt is Since it is a replacement and already I have paid the VAT at the beginning when I purchased the TV and only the part which is defective has been replaced by the supplier is it correct to charge again VAT on the replaced part. Kindly help me anyone on this query please...Thanks in advance to the responders...

With Sincere Regards

Yes vat is levied on the value of sales, so in your case vat will be charged on the amount (50%) paid by you because it is a new sale to the dealer

Thank you So much kunal Saheb, thanks for your reply..

With Sincere Regards

Raja
