Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the VAT and GST implications for petrol bunk businesses. While petrol and diesel are exempt from GST, lubricants sold at petrol stations are subject to it. Therefore, businesses selling taxable items like lubricants will require GST registration. It's important to understand these distinctions for correct tax filing.

Petrol is not covered under GST, So VAT return I think.

Petrol is exempt from GST
Oil comes under GST.
But petrol and diesel are not comes under GST
GST is not applicable on Petro Products including natural gases, diesel and petrol.
but on Items such as Lubricants and distilled water GST is applicable.
As we know generally every petrol pump is selling Lubricants ( covered under GST ) along with Petroleum Products ( Exempt under GST).
As they are selling Taxable Products under GST , therefore GST Registration is required for them.
All petro products are exempt
