Value addition to profile

Old Course 1857 views 9 replies

Hello people,

I am a CA final student and i have my exams due this november. Right now m working as an industrial trainee.

I want to add value to my profile, i am not sure what course should i join after giving my exams. As i dont want to waste any of my valuable time. and in today's time, just holding a CA degree is not so valuable. I want to start my currier with a good profile and earnings. What option should i choose

CPA, CIMA, MBA? Or if not these, any other course available in india or any where outside india.

I am basically interested in the financing field. Something that has good scope for future and adds value to my currier.

Thanks in anticipation. :)

First thing dear, who said CA degree is not enough these days....... My dear friend CA Degree is more than enough if u have talent, skills,

further if u have 3 degrees and dont have much talent these degree will of be no use....

i just want to say first concentrate on nov attempt...till than or between results u can go for short duration courses like ERP,SAP,IFRS training programs conducted by many organisations.

if u want to do another course u can do CIMA

Shalini.. CA course itself has a huge value in the industry today. If you are thinking for MBA, CPA or CIMA these courses are good, but do not add value to your knowledge. Same kind of syllabus, no value addition.

Try to diversify your knowledge.

Choose courses according to areas you love/you wish to specialize in CA Profession. But these all are at second priority.. because an Average CA passout would live an Average while, a meritorious CA or more importantly a CA with huge "practical knowledge" would be looked up as a great resource by every person/company/industry/society.

So,

1) Concentrate on passing CA with better marks

2) Excel in Articleship!

3) Choose your area of specialization (or if you are already specializing in any Medium or Big Size CA firm, expand your knowledge of other core areas of profession)

I recommend learning "Representation in Tax Departments", "Financial Consultancy", "Project Financing", "IT System Audits", "Bank Audits" etc. are good areas today to specialize or any thing else rather than core "Audit" & "Taxation" whose scope has reduced due to upcoming Companies Act, 2013 ; GST ; DTC.

First some English lessons..its not currier..its career

@ Karina - Apparently there seems to be a mistake in your name in the first place. It should be Kareena and not Karina. Or hold on, is your name a combination of Katrina and Kareena which becomes Karina. Lol.

hahahhhaa... @ mohit Nice 1.. :P

n @ karina if u dn have d answer den ur cmmnts are not required here.Kindly go somewhere else n give them ur english lessons. N 1 more thing "Galtiyan insano se hi hoti hain". So please get a life.

hey Shalini,

CA itself has a great Value. I have not cleared my 2 nd grp of CA final bt still i have got good job profile. its true that you should have good practical knowledge and without that you cant gain from your CA degree. Degree without practical knowledge is would creat ppl like katreena and kariiina :P :P

your articleship experience and your job profile will create value to your degree.

@ shalini

I didn't mean to be rude or anything. Apologies if I hurt your feelings. Anyway, do let us know what course you ended up doing :)
