Valid or Invalid
GST came in to existence in our country w.e.f.01-07-2017.Is the old (VAT) law still valid or Invalid in every state from 01-07-2017.

GST has subsumed most of the taxes including VAT.
As far as VAT is considered, GST will replace VAT on all goods except petroleum, electricity and human consumption.

Still valid to the extent mentioned above. also asessennt / re assessment under VAT are still valid.
Yes ... assessments upto 30/6/2017 in vat is valid
