Urgent - tds certificate download from traces

I have filed TDS Returns on 7th May 2013. The return has been accepted promptly. However I am unable to download the TDS Certificates in Form 16A / Form 16 from the TRACES website.

I am getting an error message "Invalid details in PART 1 and / or PART 2".

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DETAILS PROVIDED BY ME SUCH AS CHALLAN DETAILS, PAN DETAILS ARE 100% CORRECT AND THERE IS NO DISCREPANCY OR MISTAKE IN THE SAME.

Inspite of providing correct information I am getting above said error message.

So far I have sent five emails to cpctds (traces). There is no reply for the same other than an acknowledgement. I have also spoken to them over phone. They simply say that there technical team will reply to my email which is not forthcoming.

Can anybody help me in downloading the TDS certificates.

please check the data in tds return. If the challan details are not correct then it will show this error message. Please check challan status at OLTAS or TRACES. and then request again. Because this shouldn't be happening, i filed a few returns on 17th may and successfully downloaded Form-16 and Form-16A. mostly this error message is shown due to wrong or incorrect challan data or if PAN is incorrect

YOUR MISTAKE MUST BE THAT U ARE ENTERING DATE IN FORMAT DD/MM/YYYY.TO ENTER DATE SELECT FROM MENU SHOWING ON SITE.E.G IF CHALLAN DATE IS 15 JANUARY 2013 THEN IT MUST BE ENTERED LIKE THIS 15-JAN-2013.IF U ENTER DIRECTLY 15-01-2013, SYSTEM WILL NOT ACCEPT UR DATA.

Mr. Muralidharan,

Faced exactly similar situation this morning. I Logged into TDS TRACES, after entering details received same reply, yet went ahead to Downloads, and to Requested Downloads and entered From date (as yesterdays date) and TO date ( todays date) and allowed it to GO. and to my surprises the request showed STATUS as ' submitted ' which after sometime changed to 'Available' and followed the onward process of PDF Generation Utility, etc. and the Cert.in PDF got generated.

So, actually the message was a False Alarm !!! Try it , if, you have still not downloaded the same.

Hi,

If i need to generate Form 16 for the person who is responsible for deducting tax, what is the process to change the person responsible for tax ?

ie I believe he himself cannot sign his form 16 ?

Hi John,

In my opinion, a person can sign, his own Form 16 when he is working as an employee, as he will be signing in a different capacity, eg. as a Director of a Co.

If u wish that he should not sign his own Form 16, then u will have to make amendment / change the Deductor details, while filling up revised Form 24Q and similarly submit another Form 27A.

I had just tried it but on field of Certificate No. its accepting only 6 albhabets but Certificate no. is of 7 albhabets. What to do?

I Wants to downloaded Consolidate file from Traces.

I am getting an error message "Invalid details in PART 1 and / or PART 2". Please Note that the details provided by me such as challan details, pan details are 100% correct and there is no discrepancy or mistake in the same.

Also I check those details with TDS TSC Stutus and Oltas.

Can anybody help me in downloading the Consolidate file.
