mandatory e filing if gross service tax liability in the preceeding fy is 10 lac or more..........

and abt ur vat audit query...........i hve nerver read that there ws 40 lacs limit........see vat is a state subject so it differs state-to-state...........in case of compulsory vat audit states prescribe some amt,say state of raj has fixed 1 cr to chk tax evasions and all............and in case of departmental audit......cases r selected on scrutiny basis...............so there is no such exact limit as such.............
