Updating Bank Account as a Legal Heir

I am facing an issue in the efiling portal and would appreciate if my professional colleagues can help/offer advice:

1. My mother died in June 2020. I am the legal heir of my mother and filed my mother's Income Tax return for the AY 2020-21 without any issue. (There was no TDS or Tax to Pay.) When I had filed the return there was no need to validate PAN-AADHAR for Bank Information. Income Tax Website had my mother's Bank Account.

2. For the AY 2021-22, there was a TDS on Dividend paid to her in April 2020 and I have to claim the refund from the Department for which I am trying to add my Bank account (as the legal heir). I am not able to add my Bank Account to receive the refund. My Mother's Bank account is closed and cannot be validated for filing the return or receiving the refund.

Can any of the forum members advice me as to how I should proceed adding my Bank Account in the Portal (As Legal Representative) to receive the refund. When I try adding it through the menu provided, it is not accepting. I have raised several tickets with the Income Tax Department and they are not helping in any way? Truly appreciate your time in answering the question.

I would request you to go to the bank and submit it again. Tds should not be deducted from dividend unless the dividend payable exceeds Rs.10 lakhs to an individual per annum.Since it is difficult to keep a track they are deducting .If an individual does not claim it while filing it then it is assesses fault.

Hey even I'm facing same problem legal heir's bank account has gone to filed bank account I'm unable to revalidate it. Can you please help me with the same.

ITR of deceased was filed by the legal representative which resulted in refund awaited. All the bank accounts of the deceased are closed. So, we had given bank account of legal representative while registering as legal heir for filing ITR.

The same bank account is now in failed bank accounts stating PAN bank account – IFSC linkage fail in income tax portal and we are unable to revalidate the same or readd/delete any bank account. We went to the bank and relinked Bank account with PAN to fix the same but the bank account is still in failed bank account in the income tax portal.

The same bank account is validated in legal heirs’ income tax portal but we are facing issue to link the same bank account in deceased income tax portal.

We tried deleting history and cookies of web browser. We even tried to file revise return to add the same bank account but we couldn’t as the same bank account is still in failed bank account.

We kindly request you to help and guide us with the same.
