I was about to work on preferential allotment of shares for an unlisted public company. Does any of the applicable (98) sections of the Companies Act, 2013 have affected the preferential allotment of shares? I find that preferential allotment may be done as we used to do earlier and no new section has to be referred to. Am I right?

Yes, Sec.81(1A) of CA 1956 dealing with preferential allotment is still in force.
As per my perception, No new changes is notified in accordance with the Companies Act, 2013. Refer the last circular issued in this regard i.e. of December, 2011
