Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the process after generating a UDIN (Unique Document Identification Number) from ICAI. It explains that the UDIN is not used as login credentials for the Income Tax portal. Instead, the UDIN should be mentioned on the document itself, either by pen or as a watermark. The thread also covers how to update a UDIN if a form was uploaded without one, directing users to the 'View/Update UDIN details' link under the 'My Account' tab.

UDIN has been generated by ICAI then such number has been sent to registered mail of CA then such UDIN has to be mentioned by CA in portal
Okay...got it...thanks a lot
Ur welcome
One more question sir....when UDIN received in mail then it is used as id pw to login on portal??
Which portal?
I mean as you say that after receiving UDIN in mail from icai, it is mentioned on portal( income tax site)...
my question is....how we use that UDIN on income tax site to upload reports or certificates??
UDIN may be used on the document by mentioning it using a pen or as a watermark on the document.
• How to update the UDIN in case form is uploaded without UDIN?
A link ‘View/Update UDIN details’ will be available under My Account tab. User must click
the link and shall be redirected to ‘View/Update UDIN details’ for further action.
Okay...I had lot of confusion on UDIN but gradually it is going to be clarified....thanks a lot for your response 🙏
