i have in textile manufacturing business

i have registration for that.

now i am planning to start software business also

i want to maintain separate firm name for textile and software

both are proprietorship based firm

can i run both business in one gst registration

If two seperate product lines then it's OK
you need to have seperate registration.

Separate Name can't be done with same registration..

Every GST registration has Trade Name but the registration can't have two trade names .


You can carry multiple business under single registration within the state but it should be with the same trade name .

So you must have seperate registration if you want seperate trade name

If both are belongs to same PAN then you can have a single GST registration with same trade name but in your case you must have two GST registrations since you need different trade name

Trade Name can be different. here legal name only same as per pan. So, You can use Your pan with two different business under one GSTIN...

For GST Purposes Legal Name & Trade Name both will be there on the GST Certificate.

One Registration Can have one trade name only .

It simple commonsense that how can one carry business with trade name which different from GST Certificate?

Legal name is just to identify ownership but trade is for carrying business with particular name .

What is Trade name...?
What is Legal name...?

If You know the difference as above then give correct reply. given that names must be differenciate trade h legal...

Trade name is the brand name.
legal name is registered with gst authorities.

In proprietorship firm legal name is proprietor name

Download any one GST certificate.

 

Both Legal Name and Trade Names can be seen.

If registration is taken for a particular trade name , Will GST dept doesn't object if there is different trade name while carrying business?
