Transfer of unclaimed dividend amout to IEPF

Hello,

Can u pls. guide me for below given query.

We have unpaid interim dividend account with Citibank and Rs. 26200/- unpaid dividend is due to transfer to IEPF. We had reqeusted  the citibank to issue DD in favour of ICICI bank and received the same on 17th march, 2011. Generally for transferring unpaid dividend to IEPF we generally generate the offline Challan and alogwith DD we submit the same to ICICI bank and than file the Form I in which we attache the stamped paid challan.

However since 27th March, MCA has it made it compulsory to use electronic mode for making payment below Rs. 50000.

Accordingly we are not able to generate the offline challan and cannot deposit DD amounting to Rs. 26200/- in ICICI Bank.

Can anyone suggest me how to deal with such case..

Can we cancel the DD and get the same credited into the account??? If amount get credited into the account then hw to deal with that amount?? Because we cannot utilize that amount for any other purpose??

Dear Joshi- exactly dont have any idea since not done practically before. But i would like to suggest you to take up the matter with the RoC (u can use their call centre service) so that they may suggest a suitable way for the same.

Yes, it is a new practical problem.

However, in this case the fees is to be deposited online then along with that challan DD is to be deposited with the concerned bank on the specified challan of the bank as previously deposited. The difference is that the fee is not to be deposited with the bank. Then with that challan file form 1.

Others' and contrary views are welcome.
