Use Java 32bit version

PLEASE WAIT TILL 25TH AUG.  IT WILL GET SOLVED.  I SPOKE TO TDS DEPARTMENT TODAY.  THEY INFORMED US THE SAME.

Customer Support Said that this is a Technical Error on the Site ,

Wait till Monday .

Go to Java.com

update / delete old java versions

update will pop up detection of old java versions delete them

go and down load CCleaner

run CCleaner ( very safe utility no bugs reported since last 8 years )

use default version and run cleaner first then go to registry and clean them too.

Once done restart your system and do needful for DSC

use internet explorer 10

Had anyone find an appropriate solution for this problem ???

Ah, after spending some time on it and thinking about it, I was finally able to solve this problem for me. If you are not an NRI but if you're address is not fully updated in Income Tax eFilling account (https://www1.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/UserLogin/LoginHome.H T M L) then it wrongly assumes that you are an NRI and takes you to registration for NRIs. Giving India address in registration meant for NRIs make system to fail following error:

system has encountered some technical problem. please try after some time

Once I updated my complete address in the eFilling login and after 4 to 6 hours (there is database sync between these two systems) my "26AS" worked perfectly without me needing to login (or registration) into TRACES system.

I think the reverse may be true for NRIs as well. If they have India address in their income tax efilling login account but try to register with TRACES with non-India address then it might fail with same error. I'm just guessing this, I have not tried it myself.

Dear Kumar,

As a NRI, I have tried registering on TRACES for at least 50 times (no exaggeration) without success.  Instead of giving a misleading error message of a 'technical issue', the error message should state that the address does not match with the Income Tax filing website although in my opinion, this is a ridiculous requirement.

The next question is should the mobile number also match?  In the incometaxindiaefiling, I have my international cell number.  However, in the https://nriservices.tdscpc.gov.in/nriapp/login.xH T M L  website, one has to provide an Indian number only.   Again, I cannot understand why on the NRI TRACES website should there be an Indian cell number.

Whilst researching, I notice that people have problems with the TACES since the last few years.  It is surprising that this has not been addressed till now.  I can imagine the time and effort being wasted by millions of people trying to register in TRACES.
