Optimism helped get my girlfriend back. And I consider this to be the prime reason for people to be optimistic. If I google the benefits of being optimistic, most of the sites will show straight causal relationship between optimism and emotional happiness. However, these results are mere little crumbles of the entire piece of cake. No one is ever going to mend a broken relationship unless he or she knows the top reasons people should think of being optimistic again.
Optimism Heals
When my girlfriend left me for another handsome guy, I broke down totally and attempted suicide several times. I believed I would never get anyone to live with. Chronic depression overwhelmed me. My health deteriorated as I became careless of everything around me. Soon after then, I realized that the root of all the problems was my pessimism. So I tried to think life positively. I began to hang around with friends, enjoy concerts watch good movies. And quite surprisingly I regained my confidence. I started to believe in myself and forget my past. As it happened to me, I got more curious and found out on the web, that People who learn to maintain an optimistic attitude may not only avoid depression, they may actually improve their physical health. This made me happy. So I carried on to see what else optimism might bring me.
Optimism makes money
I realized that one of the myriad reasons my girlfriend hated me for was I spent too less for her. My empty pocket tacitly indicates less number of treats in KFC and consequently no expensive dating. However, today I learned that optimism makes money! Although it apparently portrays my mercenary instinct, it is nonetheless true. The entire capital market depends on people’s optimism. Investors buy shares only when they get quite optimistic on future share price. Moreover, any entrepreneurial effort needs optimistic Endeavour. Optimistic people tend to think positively about social relationship, the most important thing I consider necessary for my life. Neither money nor good character brought me back to her. She came back to me only when I began to reconsider our relationship. I believed we still could stay together. Probably in a greater sense, Martin Luther King Jr. did the same thing involving all the black citizens of America. His optimistic words: “I have a dream” led the Americans think of a positive societal relationship.
Optimists have nothing to lose
At the end of the day, be it a football game or getting your loved ones, being optimistic does not hurt anybody. Then why should we all take a chance and give it a try? Being optimists, we lose nothing rather increase the potential to gain something in our favor. Even if we lose at the end, there remains nothing to worry about as long as we put the best effort.
